VOIP Gateway

A VoIP Gateway can extend legacy PBXs' features and functionality to include use of  VoIP trunks and  services. Asterisk supports many different communications protocols, from both the modern world of VoIP, and from the legacy PSTN. Using Asterisk it is possible to to provide a new lease on life for old legacy PBXs without having to replace your entire telephone system with a VoIP solution.

Two common use cases for our VoIP gateway include:

  • Converting outgoing calls from analogue to VoIP/SIP -  in this more common setup, our VoIP gateway extends a legacy PBX to allow it to connect to the IP network to make calls using a VoIP trunk provider, reducing costs whilst enabling a business to preserve its investment in its current PBX and telephony system.

  • Converting incoming PSTN lines to VoIP/SIP - in this setup the VoIP gateway allows incoming calls from the traditional telephone network to be placed to VoIP or SIP phones,nd place calls over VoIP trunk helping reduce telephony costs and at the same time does not require the company's telephone system to be completely replaced.
  • VoIP Gateway PSTN Integration
